Тема урока:Healthy Diet.
Цели урока:
Практическая:систематизировать знания и умения учащихся по теме ‘Healthy Eating’; познакомить учащихся с принципами здорового питания.
Образовательнаяприобретение знаний о пищевых группахсодержащих различные веществанеобходимые для жизнедеятельности человекаобогащение словарного запаса учащихся.
Развивающая:развивать воображениетворческое мышлениеразвивать речевые способностиспособности логически излагатьразвивать умение анализировать.
Воспитательная:учить учащихся бережно относиться к своему здоровьюправильно питатьсяотказаться от вредных привычек.

Ход урока

1. Начало урока

Good morning, dear friends! I’m very glad to see you healthy. Well, let’s start our lesson. I’d like you to watch a video to guess the theme of our lesson. (Video 1)
T.: Can you guess the theme of our lesson?
P.: Food, healthy and unhealthy food.
T.: Yes, you are right. The theme of our lesson is “Healthy diet”.(Слайд 1)Keeping a healthy diet is one of the ways of healthy living. The main thing we are going to discuss today is healthy eating. You will learn about food groups. We are going to watch a presentation, do some tasks and we’ll practice some grammar material. At the end of this lesson you will be able to answer the main question ‘What food groups are important for a healthy body?’(Слайд 2)

2. Eatinghabits(Беседа с классом)

Now let’s speak about your eating habits.
1. How many times a day do you eat?
2. Who cooks in your family?
3. Do you think you have a healthy diet?
Let’s check up. Answer the following questions quickly to find out how good your diet is. (Card1)
T.:Who has 13-25 points? Oh dear! You eat too many the wrong things and not enough of the right things. Who has 26-35 points? You eat a good balanced diet. Are there pupils who have 36 points? Your diet is very good.
So, I see your diet isn’t very healthy and balanced.

T.: Look at the screen and answer the question.
Which is better and healthier for your body: an apple or a chocolate bar?

Do you think about what you are putting in your body before you eat anything?
Many teenagers don’t eat healthy diets. You should take more care with what you are eating! You should change your eating habits to improve your health. I want you to learn some useful information about food.

3. Presentation

Before you start watching the presentation let’s practice reading of some words.  (Слайд 4)
Match the words with their definition. (Card2)
Take your seats at the computers. You will watch the presentation and at the same time you will work on the task in your (CARD 3). Before you start watching the presentation read the instructions.
T.:In this presentation you will learn about being a healthy eater.  Please come with me as I teach you how you can make healthy choices!(Слайд5)
We are going to learn aboutFOOD GROUPS and HEALTHY EATING.(Слайд 6, 7)
Did you know that foods can be broken into groups?

We call these groups the food groups.

Follow me and discover what foods belong to each group.(Слайд8)

T.: So, it’s high time to continue our work. Let’s see what you know about food groups.
Why should we eat milk products (fruit and berries; meat, beans and eggs; bread, cereal, rice and pasta; vegetables)?
Should we eat much sugary foods?
Now let’s see if you can pick out which food belongs to each group. I will show you names of foods, and you need to pick which one does not belong to the group. (Слайд 9-14)
Let’s check up if you are good at food groups. Complete the table “Food Groups”. You must write each of these foods into the according column.(Card4)

Look! These are two friends Mary and Kate. Mary is too thin and Kate is overweighed.(Слайд 15)
What should they do? Work in groups. Using the information from the presentation and the pictures with different kinds of food on your tables make a healthy diet for them. Group A for Mary and group B for  Kate. (Слайд 16, 17) (Card5)

4. Moving Activity.       
Are you tired? Let’s have a rest.(Video 2)
5. Listening
Everybody has his favorite dish. For example I like okroshka.
And what is your favourite dish?
Do you agree that delicious food is always healthy?
In different countries there are different traditional meals.
What’s a traditional meal in Belarus? What about other countries. Let’s read.(Слайд18-20)

There is a great variety of dishes. Some of them sound strange. Listen to the conversation and say what dishes Kathy and John ordered.
Look at the board. You can see fried brains and snails there.(Слайд21)
Would you like to try fried brains? What about snails?
Listen to the part B and say if John liked the fried brains. What else did he order?
That’s right.
Work in pairs. Complete these conversations and then role-play them.(Card6)

6. Projects
I’d like to know if you like cooking?
What can you cook?
As for me I like okroshka. Read the instructions for making okroshka. Reorder the sentences.(Слайд22)   (Card7)
Now it’s your turn.Work in groups. Group A write instructions for making a fruit salad.
Group B write instructions for making a green salad.

7. Speaking
And now answer the main question of our lesson:
–       What food groups are important for a healthy body?
You know a lot about Food Groups. Let’s make a story about healthy eating. Everyone should make up only one sentence. But don’t repeat the sentences of your friends. We should speak about all food groups.
–       What do you think healthy eating means? Let’s start!
As you know in order to stay healthy it is important to have a balanced diet. It means that food should contain something from each of food groups.(Слайд23)

8. Подведение итогов

Let’s see if you were attentive at the lesson. Take your seats at the computers and do the test. How many points have you got?
I’ve got a proverb but you should decode it. Do you agree with this proverb? Why?
I’m pleased with your work at our lesson. I’m sure you know now how to eat well in order to be healthy, strong and active.
